What does the job look like?
Linfox partners with Australia’s leading Resources and Industrial companies, providing specialised logistics services across the country. Our Western Australian business continues to invest in its people and equipment, enabling it to provide innovative and comprehensive long distance supply chain solutions throughout the region.
We are seeking a Management Accountant to manage financial accounting and reporting, ensuring the accuracy of financial outcomes for the customer contracts and Linfox. You will work closely with commercial, site operational, and administrative teams to maintain financial consistency and integrity. Key areas:
- Assist the finance team prepare weekly and monthly profit and loss statements for customer contracts and head office, conducting analysis and providing recommendations
- Prepare and manage general ledger journals, ensuring the provision of necessary supporting documentation
- Produce timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations, implementing strong controls to maintain financial integrity
- Support annual Budgeting and Forecasting for the customer contracts and profit and loss statements
- Support the Finance Manager in meeting Weekly, Monthly and Annual reporting requirements, ensuring all submissions are completed within deadlines
- Preparation of customer billing claims in a timely and accurate manner to ensure tight cash flow controls
- Collaborate with the team to improve financial systems and processes and contribute to projects as required
Are you the one?
To be successful in this role, you will need excellent financial reporting, analysis skills and the ability to work independently with a proactive mindset. Communication is key, as you will engage with various stakeholders and explain complex financial matters in a clear, solutions-focused manner. You can demonstrate:
- Experience in a commercial finance environment, ideally in the transport or resources sector
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Commerce, with CPA/CA qualification
- Proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, including building budgets and providing clear commentary on variances
- Strong experience in balance sheet reconciliation and month-end close processes
- Familiarity with asset management and customer contract financials
- Expertise in working with large ERP systems and reporting tools, SAP and TM1 considered highly desirable
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders and explain complex financial information clearly
