What does the job look like?

Our Intermodal Business Unit have a full-time permanent opportunity to join our team located in West Melbourne, VIC. In this position you will be a key player in ensuring our rail operations run smoothly. You will support the wider operations team by monitoring freight and driver movements, managing safety and compliance activities and ensuring accurate communication with customers, sites and internal stakeholders.

This is a Monday - Friday position on afternoon shift, commencing at 2:00pm and finishing at 10:00pm. Key areas:

  • Support live allocating activities by monitoring freight loads and ensuring tasks are completed effectively
  • Coordinate end‑to‑end freight updates, including recoveries for delays, rejections and potential service changes
  • Deliver proactive communication to customers, sites and management regarding service impacts
  • Maintain safety and compliance processes, including incident reporting, investigations, toolbox talks and safety KPIs
  • Support next‑day load planning & produce accurate end of day reporting

Are you the one?

You’re someone who enjoys being at the centre of operations, supporting customers and drivers while keeping safety, service and compliance front of mind. You can demonstrate:

  • Prior experience in operational or customer service-related roles within the Transport/Logistics industry  
  • Strong system capability, including experience with Blue Yonder or similar transport management systems
  • A safety‑first mindset, with experience supporting compliance, incident reporting or operational KPIs
  • Strong planning and organisational skills to manage competing operational priorities
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
