What does the job look like?
As the Solution Lead, you will be the end‑to‑end functional lead of the Blue Yonder TMS platform within Transport Solutions. Reporting to the BY Product Manager, you will lead solution design, product delivery, continuous improvement, and operational stability of a business‑critical platform operating in a complex, 24/7 environment.
You’ll act as the primary point of contact for BY TMS across Transport operations, the Digital Freight Network (DFN), and external vendors, translating business needs into scalable, supportable functional and technical solutions. This role balances strategic product ownership with hands‑on delivery leadership and close engagement with operational stakeholders.
This is a growth role, with a clear pathway to increased ownership of the platform and leadership of the Solution Lead team over time, supported by strong product, architecture, and delivery partnerships.
This role is onsite based out of our HQ in Essendon Fields (VIC)
Other duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Leading the end‑to‑end BY TMS platform, including current functionality, enhancements, and roadmap delivery
- Leading functional solutioning and configuration to meet operational and business needs
- Acting as the authoritative functional owner and escalation point for complex platform decisions
- Owning delivery of all BY TMS change including enhancements, defects, regulatory changes, and continuous improvement
- Shaping and continuously improving release, testing, and deployment practices to ensure delivery quality
- Balancing speed‑to‑market with operational stability and supportability
- Managing capacity, prioritisation, and resource allocation across delivery streams
- Leading delivery across onshore and offshore teams and managing vendor performance
- Partnering with Architecture, Integration, DFN Solution Leads, Optimiser Leads, and BAU Support teams
- Analysing system and operational trends to drive usability improvements and product enhancements
- Providing leadership, mentoring, and capability uplift across functional and delivery teams

You’re comfortable partnering with senior stakeholders, working closely with transport operations, and guiding technical and functional teams to deliver outcomes that genuinely make a difference.
You bring sound judgement, a customer‑first mindset, and the ability to turn evolving business needs into clear, practical solutions. You’re curious, commercially minded, and motivated to continuously deepen your understanding of transport technology and operating models.
The ideal candidate can demonstrate:
- A tertiary or diploma qualification in Business, IT or related areas
- Experience in customer service and stakeholder management
- Experience in the Logistics industry and/or Transport (desired, but not required)
- Experience and exposure to other systems such as TMS, YMS, OCC, Cross Dock, Telematics platforms.
- Experience owning or contributing to enterprise platforms in complex operational environments
- Strong experience in functional solutioning and product delivery.
- Transport, logistics, or transport‑adjacent experience (e.g. aviation, rail, ports, intermodal) highly desirable.
