What does the job look like?

This opportunity is central to keeping our Intermodal network operating effectively by coordinating fleet activity to ensure freight is delivered safely, efficiently and on schedule. As a Fleet Allocator, you’ll partner closely with drivers, contractors and internal teams, making real-time decisions that directly influence operational performance and customer experience.

This is a full time permanent opportunity working a Monday to Friday on a night shift roster starting at 9pm and finishing at 5am, suited to someone who performs well in fast paced, after-hours operational environment. Key areas: 

  • Allocate and coordinate fleet movements to meet daily service and customer requirements
  • Communicate proactively with drivers, customers and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment across operations
  • Manage bookings, manifests and transport documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance standards are met
  • Update and maintain job records in SAP, supporting the flow of operational information
  • Monitor fleet utilisation and respond to real-time changes, escalating issues where required
  • Complete yard checks, reinforce safety practices and support Linfox’s Vision Zero commitment

Are you the one?

You are a transport or logistics professional with experience in scheduling or fleet coordination, comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on safety, compliance and service outcomes. You can demonstrate:

  • Experience in a similar operational role within the Logistics/Transport/Rail industry will be highly regarded
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members, drivers and customers
  • Strong geographical knowledge of the Brisbane metro area will be highly regarded, however not essential
  • Highly organised with the ability to work calmly and efficiently in a very high-pressure environment
  • Highly proficient computer skills and ability to pick things up quickly
