What does the job look like?

Linfox Intermodal are seeking a Transport Allocator to join our team based in East Arm, Darwin. In this key operational role, you will be responsible for coordinating daily transport activities, ensuring freight movements are allocated efficiently and delivered safely, compliantly and on time. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will liaise closely with drivers, subcontractors, customers and internal stakeholders to support operational performance and service delivery. Key areas:

  • Coordinate daily freight allocations, collections, deliveries and changeovers to ensure customer requirements are met safely and efficiently.
  • Communicate with drivers, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure all transport activities are completed in line with operational, safety and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor fleet utilisation and provide real-time operational support to maximise service delivery and productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR), fatigue management, maintenance schedules and contractor requirements.
  • Maintain accurate transport system data, operational records and reporting to support visibility and performance outcomes.
  • Escalate service and safety incidents as required and actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.

Are you the one?

  • Previous experience in a transport allocation, scheduling, fleet control or logistics operations role.
  • Sound understanding of Chain of Responsibility (CoR), fatigue management and heavy vehicle compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships with drivers, subcontractors and customers.
  • Highly organised with excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience using transport management systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work autonomously while maintaining a strong focus on teamwork, safety and customer service.
  • Resilient under pressure with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
  • Passion for transport and logistics with a commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
